CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Downtown Clarksville Association hosted the First Thursday Artwalk for September, with live music, food and refreshments, as well as the company of other art enthusiasts.
Jane Moore and her husband Shane are Clarksville artists who showcased their works at the Downtown Artists Co-op on Thursday. Jane has been a member of the DAC since 2015 and specializes in acrylic and digital art. Many of her paintings are manipulations, including florals.
“It’s a lot of mess, but it’s a lot of fun,” she said.
Shane is a Clarksville native and photographer, as well as a founding member of the DAC. He primarily does black-and-white darkroom photography. Shane stated his inspiration for his “Echos” show was the E.T. Wickham statues in Palmyra.
“I love collaborating with my wife and trying to find themes or works that go together. It’s been a lot of work, but we’re very happy; the turnout is great, and it’s a wonderful night.”
Artist Regina Mick, an abstract expressionist, had her works displayed at the Roxy Regional Theatre. Regina stated she recently went back to creating her favorite type of art, collage. She loves that the viewers can interpret her art the way they want to, rather than creating a set message.
“This is my first show that’s fully collaged, and I’m just really excited for people to see it,” Regina said.
Artwalk is held from 5-8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in downtown Clarksville.
