CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Customs House Museum will offer free admission during the next First Thursday Art Walk for a signing by Clarksville born writer Emily Deloach Gatlin, author of The Unknown Hendrix.

HendrixThe “bookazine” documents the rise of guitarist Jimi Hendrix, including his time in Clarksville when he served with the 101st Airborne Division.

Copies of the book are available at Seasons: The Museum Store.

The museum’s event will take place from 5-7 p.m., sponsored by Clarksvillenow.com and Z97.5 FM.

Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.

With more than 10 venues, bars and businesses participating each month, the First Thursday Art Walk in Clarksville is the ultimate opportunity to savor and support local creative talent.

The September Art Walk will be held September 3 from 5-8 p.m. at the shops and galleries on Public Square, Franklin Street, and Strawberry Alley.

This month’s ArtWalk will feature The Cumberland Winds Brass Quintet. The Cumberland Winds is made up of a large number of musicians who perform in a variety of groups in diverse venues. The musical groups consist of a concert band, big band, Dixie band, jazz combo, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, and include a number of solo instrumentalists.
