CLARKSVILLE, TN – This week, national nonprofit Operation Homefront, with the support of First Lady Maria Lee and the Tennessee Serves team, celebrated dozens of local military moms-to-be.

The organization hosted a Star-Spangled Babies baby shower for 25 pre-registered new and expecting military parents on Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn, according to a news release.

The Star-Spangled Babies program is designed to ease the financial and emotional stress many military families face while welcoming a new child, often far from extended family and support networks. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with gifts, games, vital parenting resources, and the chance to build lasting community connections, the release said.

Through its Star-Spangled Babies baby shower program, Operation Homefront has provided critical baby supplies to more than 21,000 military new and expecting military moms since 2008.
