NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The makers of the popular BarkBox are bringing the first-ever BarkPark to Nashville.
The East Nashville space will be designed for dogs and their people to unleash, unwind, and enjoy each other’s company and will open September 8, 2018. The park will be for members only and requires registration.
The members-only dog park is the brainchild of the company behind BarkBox.
What’s in it for dogs?
A square block of cleanly landscaped green space that’s primed for romps and runs, access to the best toys and treats on the planet, and the opportunity to hang in the wild with their favorite person: you!
What’s in it for dog owners?
Free wifi, a coffee bar, seating, tolerable restrooms, state-of-the-art design, weekly programming, and friendly on-site staff. And the park is BYOB beer and wine.
As members, each dog is allowed to bring his/her two favorite humans.

“Our team began an intensive “auditioning” of cities – traveling and sightseeing and talking to people walking their dogs around town. We had to test our intuitions,” said Henrik Werdelin, co-founder of BARK. “After logging some serious miles, the team picked Nashville, TN.”
“For starters, it’s a super-cool and beautiful city. And, it’s the capital of country music with a killer food scene. Those are all big pluses! But the deciding factor for us was how far ahead of the curve it is as a pet-friendly city. Plus, the weather and people are great and I wanted an excuse to spend more time there,” Werdelin added.
During the 3-month pop-up, BarkPark will be open daily until dusk with twice-weekly events (current concepts include BARK’s staple Open Bark Night comedy show and Tails & Ales with local breweries) free for all members.
Membership passes are offered at three tiers – daily ($19 per day), monthly ($49 for 4 weeks), or season ($78 for 3 months).
BARK’s vision is for this pop-up to become a permanent fixture in Nashville and then to soon bring joy to backyards nationwide.
