CUNNINGHAM, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A house caught fire on Dailey Dunn Road in Cunningham late Thursday morning.

At about 11:33 a.m., Montgomery County firefighters from Stations 15, 16, 17 and 18 arrived at the residence in South Montgomery County to see plumes of smoke rising from the roof from a heavy fire in the home’s attic.

According to the Montgomery County Fire Service, with limited personnel initially arriving, firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to the entire house. MCFS said after the initial investigation, it is believed the fire started in the fireplace/chimney area of the home.

No injuries were reported at the scene and the Red Cross is working with the displaced family.
