CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Clarksville Fire Rescue were called to an apartment fire Tuesday evening shortly after 6 p.m. at the Darlene Drive Apartments. Deputy Fire Chief Ray Williams said that apartment 139-F suffered a damage from a fire in the bedroom which Firefighters from Station 1, Station 5 and Station 6 were quickly able to extinguish.

Williams added that there wasn’t that much damage but Firefighters had to spend time cleaning up a mattress, box springs and bed linen that were burned. The resident of the apartment was not home at the time of the fire but did return while Firefighters were on the scene.

There were no injuries reported but the resident was displaced and did receive support from volunteers with the Tennessee River Chapter of the American Red Cross. No other apartments in the complex were affected and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
