PALMYRA, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department held their annual 5K and Car Show Saturday at Richellen Park. The event is a fundraiser for the Firefighter Jessee Knowles “Keep Truckin!” Scholarship.
One $1,553 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Montgomery Central High School (MCHS). Knowles graduated MCHS in 2012 and was a Firefighter with the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department.
He was awarded Firefighter of the Year for both the Palmyra Fire Service and the Montgomery County Fire Service in 2015. Jesse lost his battle with cancer in 2016. The scholarship is in honor of his call sign which was 1553.
