CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fire broke out in a house on Cobblestone Lane early Wednesday morning after a wood burning stove was left unattended.

At about 1:16 a.m., the fire in the north Clarksville neighborhood, just south of the state line, was reported to Clarksville Fire Rescue.

The resident at 1213 Cobblestone had left a small fire in a wood burning fireplace and left the home. He came back 20 minutes later to find the house fully engulfed, according to Clarksville Fire Rescue Capt. Michael Rios.

The fire was called in to 911 by a neighbor.

No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries, but the house appears to be a total loss, Rios said.

Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the resident.
