CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Firefighters rescued a small dog from an apartment after a fire broke out in a duplex on Cunningham Place.

At 12:30 p.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue was on the scene, which is just off Cunningham Lane.

The fire was on the second floor of the house, and a large pare of the roof collapsed. Firefighters were shooting water into the roof.

No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries. The fire appears to have started on the back side exterior, but investigators are on the scene to determine the origin.

It appears the fire is under control.

A small dog was recovered after units forced entry, since no one was home. The dog is safe and crated, and neighbors were giving it water.

Station 6, 5, 7 and Rescue Squad 1 are on the scene.
