CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville female wrestlers and their wrestling programs recently earned national attention in individual and team rankings as the following hit USA Wrestling’s recent national rankings:

  • #29 at 235 – Shaniayha Wysinger (Clarksville)
  • #29 at 125 – Mariana Bowen (West Creek)
  • #27 at 140 – Audrey Levendusky (Montgomery Central)
  • #18 at 190 – Irelynn Laurin (Rossview)

Bowen and Levendusky, both sophomores, are both returning state champions, while Laurin was a bronze state medalist last year. At the national level, Bowen recently placed 3rd at Beast of the East, Levendusky was 4th at Preseason Nationals in November, and Laurin was 4th at Fargo Freestyle Nationals last summer.

Team rankings:

  • #36 Clarksville
  • Honorable Mention – Montgomery Central
  • Honorable Mention – Northwest

These three teams have been battling each other throughout the season and will square off at regionals this week. Montgomery Central had previously been ranked as high as #33 and Northwest was #40. This is the first time the Clarksville program has hit the national rankings this year.
