CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tails of the Trail, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Nashville, is launching a nine shelter/rescue adopt-a-thon titled “Home for the Holidays” on November 30 and December 1 during normal shelter hours.

Normal hours for Montgomery County Animal Care and Control are Friday Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adoption fees for all available dogs will be fully sponsored.

The mission of Tails of the Trail (TOTT) is to exercise, socialize and transport shelter dogs, reducing kennel-related stress and euthanasia rates while increasing community awareness and adoptions. In the past three and a half years this organization has participated in the adoption of over 575 dogs while additionally transporting 74 out of Middle Tennessee shelters to no-kill partners within Iowa, Illinois, New Jersey and Delaware where they were rehomed in under 14 days.

TOTT’s Executive Director, Lisa Thomas, said the organization is excited to help homeless dogs find new adoptive families before the holidays during a time when shelter intake is on the rise and most are filled to capacity. “We truly hope to impact the communities we serve with a goal of 150-200 adoptions,” she said.
