CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Through a partnership with Feeding America-Kentucky’s Heartland and the city of Oak Grove, a food distribution event is coming to the Oak Grove Community Center on Tuesday, July 14.

The free food distribution will take place from 9 a.m.–noon at the community center, 1705 Thompsonville Lane. The USDA non-perishable food will be distributed in a drive-thru manner for non-contact delivery and volunteers are being asked to wear face masks while helping.

Those receiving food should bring proof of being a current resident of Christian County and have the trunk or back of their vehicle clean and accessible for food.

“Christian County is the largest county in our 42-county service area and we realize there may be many barriers for individuals, families, and seniors to have access to much needed food items,” said Jamie Sizemore, Executive Director of Feeding America-Kentucky’s Heartland.

Sizemore added that it is important they take food to the areas where accessibility may be an issue. Plans are for the agency to bring enough food to serve 600 households.
