Amos Fay Elrod, age 93, of Palmyra, TN passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Baggett’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Gary Riley officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Baggett’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Fay entered this life on May 23, 1931, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Amos G. Elrod and Elizabeth Riley Elrod. He was a 1949 graduate of Montgomery Central High School and a member of Baggett’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. A proud veteran, Fay served honorably in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. His military career instilled in him the values of discipline and leadership, which he carried into his civilian life. Following his service, Fay had a rewarding career in Civil Service, retiring from his position at Ft. Campbell, where he contributed significantly. In addition to his military and civil service, Fay was known for his technical skills in radio repair electronics.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Mae Elrod, and sisters, Ruth Knowles, and Mildred Fletcher.

Survivors include his son, Shannon (Cindy) Elrod; daughters, Cynthia Elrod, Phyllis Cannon, and Mary Jane Elrod; sisters, Ellen Bridges, and Katherine Jackson; grandchildren, Robert Cannon, Kevin (Hope) Cannon, Mary Beth (Ethan) Jones, Cody (Kami) Elrod, and Faith (Corey Gatlin) Cannon, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Cannon, Kevin Cannon, Cody Elrod, Craig Mackens, Jimmy Gaither, and Troy Vickers.
