More than 100 guests enjoyed a delicious meal of produce provided by local farmers at the annual Farm to Market Dinner at Liberty Park.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – More than 100 guests gathered at Liberty Park’s Freedom Point Saturday, August 14 for the annual Clarksville Parks & Recreation Farm to Market Dinner.
The event, sponsored by Altra Federal Credit Union and Blue Cord Realty, featured tasty delights like Buffalo Deviled Eggs, Raspberry Covered Pork Loin, Stuffed Peppers, Roasted Red Potatoes, and Carrot Cake prepared by North Meets South Catering & Takeaway.
Event Planning Specialist for Clarksville Parks & Recreation, Rebecca Lopez, shared details about the special meal. “Our farmers are kind enough to donate, from their farms, produce, flowers, and greens. We get a caterer that creates a menu around everything that they donate. It’s a beautiful community event sand everybody gets involved,” Lopez said. Everyone who attended also received a succulent as a gift after their meal.

A thunderstorm with heavy rain and high winds just before the Farm to Market Dinner almost led to a delay or possible cancellation of the event which was being held on the lower level of Freedom Point. Thanks goes out to staff members of Clarksville Parks & Recreation, along with other volunteers and workers with the dinner who quickly scrambled to straighten everything up and dry everything off to continue with the dinner.
