WOODLAWN, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A house was damaged and a garage destroyed in a car fire Wednesday in west Montgomery County, displacing a family of five.
At 6:45 p.m., Montgomery County Fire Department firefighters were on the scene of the fire in the 4800 block of Lylewood Road.

The fire started in the detached garage and spread to the home, according to an MCFD report. The homeowner was working on a vehicle in his shop when the engine caught on fire. He tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Units arrived on the scene with smoke and fire coming from the garage. No injuries were reported. The family of five will be displaced due to the house damage.
