CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Gateway Chamber Orchestra hosts “Flutes Fantastique,” Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in the George & Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at Austin Peay State University.

Sponsored by Planters Bank, this Family Series concert will take the audience on a dazzling cross-cultural journey as flutist Rhonda Larson performs music from exotic cultures. She is internationally recognized for her technical wizardry and impressive versatility, performing on an array of ethnic flutes from around the world.

An Acuff Chair of Excellence artist-in-residence at Austin Peay State University, Larson will be joined by Paul Carrol Binkley, guitar; Tony Nagy, bass and David Steinquest, percussion.

Pre-concert children’s activities will include an instrumental petting zoo (featuring Pearl flutes), and craft projects, which will begin at 2 p.m. in the Music Mass Communication Building on the campus of Austin Peay State University.

The Gateway Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Gregory Wolynec, was formed in 2008 and is recognized as one of the leading new American ensembles.
