CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – On Tuesday, April 10 at 1:26 p.m., fire crews from Station 4 and Station 1 responded to a house fire on Ambleside Dr.

According to Clarksville Fire Rescue, when crews arrived smoke was pouring out of the front door and flames were visible from the street. Engine 1, Rescue 1, Tower 1 and Car 3 arrived on the scene.

The fire was quickly knocked down and was under control within minutes. It was contained to one room, but the smoke caused damage throughout the upper floor.

One person was home at the time of the fire. He was checked and released by EMS for smoke inhalation. The family dog got out of the house safely.

Chief David Clinard called the American Red Cross to the scene to assist the family. The family will be displaced from the home, and most of the clothes in the home had smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
