CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Austin Peay State University Department of Physics, Engineering and Astronomy held one of its Public Observatory Nights Saturday at the APSU School Farm at 1991 Pickens Road.

Outside, Professor Spencer Buckner and students helped attendees find various objects in the skies. Inside the Observatory, a large 20-inch telescope was controlled by a computer. On Saturday, visitors got to see a rare double star.

The final event of the summer will be Saturday, Aug. 10, with doors opening at 8 p.m. and programming beginning at 8:30. Register here for tickets. The event is free, but tickets are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is capped at 50 patrons per session.
