Looking for something fun to do this last weekend of summer? Take a mini Food Tour around Clarksville! I recently embarked on a food tour, and it was a delicious day of fun. There are a variety of ways to do this, of course, but here are a few suggestions.
1. Find a foodie friend (or three) to join you on the adventure. This is a great activity if you have a child who is an adventuresome eater, or you and your significant other are looking for something different to do, or you and your friends just want to shake up your routine.
2. Agree on the plan for the Tour. For my recent tour, we decided to order just one item at each restaurant and share it. That way, lots of different places can be visited and enjoyed. Another idea would be to plan one course per stop.
3. Decide on the restaurants you want to visit. Some will want to map this out in an order by food choice, while others may want a loop around the city.
Here are some you might consider:
Silkes – in house baked goods, German coffee, authenticity
Chi-Town– delicious “taste of Chicago” hot dogs
Jib Bop– always something new and amazing to try, beautiful presentation
Johnny’s– fun environment, delicious burger and fries +Bun & Cream
New York Pizza Depot– Can’t beat a great pie!
Miss Lucille’s– cozy environment, consistently delicious food, friendly staff, plus a great indoor walk to make some room for the next course!
Some people like to take pictures of the food and make notes along the way. Letting the wait staff in on the plan often makes for a good time, as well. The main goal of the Mini Food Tour is to have fun and enjoy all the great variety while exploring the Clarksville Food Scene!
