Evelyn Virginia Birnie Merlow, 102, of Clarksville, TN, formerly of Salem, OR, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. She was born on January 19, 1911 in Columbus, OH to the late Raymond E. Birnie and Laura Ash Birnie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Merlow; daughter, Suzanne; granddaughter, Jocelyn; brother, Frank; and three sisters, Eleanor, Anita, and Mary Helen.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating.
Evelyn was a member of the Emeritus Society of Salem, OR.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews mostly in Clarksville, TN and Owensboro, KY.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mary Birdwell and Lillian Cheatham for their special care and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Audubon Society or the National Arbor Day Foundation.
