The Queen City Road Race Art Contest is now underway for students in grades 1st through 5th. Two semi-finalists from each participating school will be selected and awarded an art kit and certificate. The top three artists selected from among the semi-finalists will win a Subway party for their individual art classes. The first place winning artist will win also win a framed poster of his or her artwork, an official race t-shirt featuring his or her artwork and $100 for his or her art class.
Artwork may be done in any medium (pencil, marker, crayon, etc.), although there is a five color use maximum. Simple designs are encouraged, and copyrighted material will not be accepted. Art must be on an 8 1/2×11 paper or canvas; no construction paper.
All completed artwork must be submitted to the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department at 102 Public Square no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 10. Art teachers may arrange for pick-ups at schools no later than January 10.
The Queen City Road Race, sponsored by Cumberland Bank and Trust, will take place Saturday, May 3rd at 8 a.m. The event will include a 5k, 7k, and One Mile Movement.
