Empty Bowls raises money to help fight hunger

Hundreds gathered for a meal to support Loaves and Fishes and Urban Ministries.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The 8th Annual Empty Bowls, Hope Not Hunger was held Tuesday, February 23 in Clarksville. Six area churches opened their doors, three for lunch and three for dinner with the mission of helping to feed the hungry, disadvantaged and homeless in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Money raised through ticket sales, donations and sponsorship will go to Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen and Urban Ministries, Grace Assistance Food Bank. Volunteers and supporters painted hundreds of bowls and each person attending the event received a bowl as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in our community and around the world.
