CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Empty Bowls event broke many records this year. Between February 18 and February 27, 13 locations (the most ever) served up home cooked soups to raise awareness about hunger in the Clarksville community. Eight mealtimes were available to choose from including four lunch and four dinner options.
A record 32 sponsors participated this year, bringing in more than $21,000. Online ticket sales also hit a new all-time high, an almost 60 percent increase over last year. Most importantly, this year marks the most dollars ever raised in the 16 years of Empty Bowls: a whopping $45,374!
All of this in an effort to raise awareness about hunger in the community and supporting local agencies addressing food insecurity. Loaves and Fishes, Urban Ministries, and Manna Cafe Ministries each received $15,250 to help in their mission of feeding the hungry.
Plans are already underway for next year’s Empty Bowls event to be held February 16-22, 2025. For more information go to Emptybowlsclarksville.com.
