CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The 12th Annual Empty Bowls Clarksville event will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at eight area churches in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
Over the years, the event has raised more than $275,000 and supports Loaves & Fishes, Urban Ministries, and The Food Initiative. All three organizations help provide thousands of meals and food every year to struggling families and individuals who are in need.
Throughout the year, folks from all walks of life hand paint and donate bowls which are symbols of giving and hope. The bowls are a reminder and help raise awareness that there are empty bowls in the community and that everyone can do something to help feed a hungry neighbor.
On February 25, Trinity Episcopal Church, Grace Lutheran Church, and New Providence Methodist Church will serve lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3242 Highway 41-A South, First Presbyterian Church, Sango United Methodist Church, and Salem United Methodist Church.
Attend the Empty Bowls fundraiser and you will enjoy a meal of delicious hot soup, bread, dessert, and a drink. You’ll also be able to take home a unique, hand-painted bowl. Bowls are provided by The Pottery Room, Horsefeathers Pottery & Art Studio, and Shipley Pottery.
Tickets for Empty Bowls are $15 and are on sale now. They can be purchased at any of the host churches named above or by going to the Empty Bowls Clarksville’s Facebook page or email Clarksvilleemptybowls@gmail.com.
