FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – If you are a Soldier or Family member about to transition from Army-life to civilian life within the next 12 months … Listen Up!
Fort Campbell is working with the White House Joining Forces Initiative, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor, Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host the Fort Campbell Veterans Employment Summit and Career Forum. Conceivably, a Soldier or Spouse could attend this event and walk away with a solid job offer.
This transition summit will be held in Hangar 3 at Campbell Army Airfield on Wednesday, April 23, and is a free opportunity for business and civic leaders to link transitioning Soldiers and their Families with national employers wanting to hire veterans.
In the morning session, beginning at 8 a.m., Solders and Spouses who’ve been identified as in a transition status will hear from civic and military leaders, and business innovators on developing strong military recruitment strategies and dispelling myths about veteran hiring. Federal and state service agencies, veteran-friendly employers, and special guests will speak about the resources, training, and opportunities available to help in transitioning to civilian life.
The afternoon session, beginning at noon and open to any military ID-card holder, will culminate in a career forum for veterans, transitioning service members, National Guard, Reserve components, and military spouses. More than 100 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for attendees of all ranks and levels of experience.
