CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Lanier Lawn and Landscaping congratulates our Athletes of the Week, the East Montgomery Elementary School (EMES) Archery Team. They placed 4th this spring at the Tennessee State Tournament and just missed 3rd place by one point.
They have finished in the top 10 in the state for the past four years and they were also invited to shoot in the national championships in Louisville, KY. The team is made up of 24, 4th and 5th graders, and is part of the National Archery in Schools Program.
The team is led by Coach Jared Hill who said on the school’s website, being on the team encourages and motivates the kids to keep their grades up and provides a chance for kids who may not be interested in traditional team sports to participate. Physical Education Teachers Ann Crouch and Brandy Biggar also share coaching duties for the team.
EMES Archery Team members include Logan Blackmon, Emma Butler, Emily Ender, Blake Greathouse, Adrianna Kools, Bryan Longwell, Bennett Mobley, Ryan Murphy, Wyatt Nelson, Hayden Newton, Hannah Quinnan, Brett Ruiz, Willie Russell, Evan Rushing, Chandler Shelton, Taylor Shelton, Bailey Slate, Lee Smith, Mackaela Stuard, McKinlee Suiter, Tristan Watts, Jacob Whittinghill, Anna Withers and Megan Wyatt.
