CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Fiber lines in front of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Emergency 911 Center, 130 South First St., have been accidently cut due to construction.
When the lines were severed, the 911 redundancy backup system seamlessly went into use, according to county spokesperson Michelle Newell. Shortly after the backup system went into effect, dispatchers noticed some of the calls were becoming spotty or intermittent.
If you call 911 and your call is dropped, please call back, use the 911 text option or call the non-emergency line at 931-552-1011. All hands are on deck to fix the fiber lines, and specialists from Nashville, Austin Peay State University, the Montgomery County IT Department and others are working on the issue and hope to have the lines reconnected this evening.
