Elton Douglas Noel, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Gateway Medical Center.

Elton was born April 13, 1934, in Hopkinsville, KY, to the late George Floyd Noel and Grace Thomas Noel. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Noble E. Noel and Paul A. Noel.

Mr. Noel was a current member of and an active Sunday school teacher at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Kentucky State and National Young Farmers Association and was active in Gideons International. He was formerly an elder and active Sunday school teacher at Newstead Presbyterian Church, in Christian County, KY. Elton graduated from South Christian High School and was a lifelong farmer. He worked at Production Credit and was a singer and guitarist, as well as a US Army veteran.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 15, at 10:30 AM, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Steve Louder officiating. Visitation will be Monday, December 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Tuesday, December 15, from 9:30 AM until the time of service, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville.

Elton is survived by his wife, Sallie McReynolds Noel; three nephews, Noble (Anne) Noel, Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY, Thomas (Karen) Noel of Hopkinsville, KY, and Bill (Angie) Noel of Lynchburg, VA; two nieces, Mary McReynolds (Gerald) Johns of Bowling Green, KY and Martha McReynolds Majors of Madisonville, KY; six great nieces; and five great nephews.
