TODD COUNTY, KY – The Elkton-Todd County Park will once again host the annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display on Friday, July 3rd at Todd County Central High School located at 806 South Main Street in Elkton.
Now in its 11th year, the annual fireworks spectacular is sponsored by donations from BR Knuckles Insurance and Heritage Bank, drawing spectators from across the county and surrounding area.
According to Tim Little of BR Knuckles Insurance, “Since the 3rd is on a Friday night this year we are hoping for the biggest crowd ever.”
The Todd County Community Alliance is once again sponsoring free entertainment and inflatable bouncers from Orr’s Bouncin’ Fun prior to the fireworks. Local churches will perform a “We Believe” Cantata featuring patriotic music. The Todd Central High School Jazz Band will also perform, and local talent from the recent TC Showcase will once again display their amazing talents.
The activities will take place on the lawn near the baseball field and the public is asked not to walk or sit on the soccer field, which will be roped off from the public. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets and arrive early for a good seat.
Local TCCHS groups such as the Band Boosters, Girls Soccer and Girls Basketball will be selling concessions and other items, with proceeds going to support those groups and the Elkton-Todd County Park. They will be selling glow items, face and hair painting, hamburgers, hotdogs, ribeye sandwiches, ice cream, snow cones, deep fried treats, twisted potato chips, cold drinks and more.
