CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Corinthia Elder won the only contested race in the Montgomery County primary election, beating Keith Norris for the Republican nomination for County Trustee.
According the Montgomery County Election Commission website, Elder received 1,622 votes or 54.23 percent of the vote, to 1,352 votes, or 45.2 percent, for Norris.

Voter turnout was predictably low with less than 5 percent of the 100,931 registered county voters turning out to the polls.
Nashville voters rejected a highly publicized mass transit plan by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
