CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A total of eight people have been arrested and charged with murder in the 2019 Summit Heights shooting death of 32-year-old Joshua Ellis and attempted murder of Joshua Dix.

It was believed that Hersey Bernard Mitchell, who was arrested on Tuesday, was the final suspect of seven to be arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder for their involvement in the shooting. However, a total of eight have been charged, according to court records obtained Thursday by Clarksville Now.

A woman named Plezhane Von George was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, conspiracy and weapon possession in commission of a dangerous felony related to the 2019 shooting.

George was arrested in October 2019, just a few weeks after the initial six were arrested and charged in September that year. Her arrest has not previously been reported.

At approximately 9 p.m. on July 21, 2019, police responded to a shooting on Givens Lane. When they arrived, Ellis was found lying on the ground with gunshot injuries. He was taken to a Nashville hospital and died from his injuries the next morning.

That same night, around 9:15 p.m., Dix was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Summit Heights. He also was taken to a Nashville hospital, where he was treated and then released to recover.

Along with Mitchell and George, the others charged were Lewis Timmons, Kaleb Wilson, Kamren Bennett, Dorris Acree, Anthony Spencer and Jaquan Dawes.

Timmons and Acree bonded out last year, while Wilson and Bennett remain incarcerated. Dawes, Spencer and George are also out on bond, but were ordered to stay with family, have no contact with their co-defendants, and wear a GPS ankle monitor.

The six men and one woman who were charged in 2019 have an upcoming court hearing on Feb. 10 related to the case.
