Effie Ruth Crowder, age 83, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at Gateway Medical Center.
Effie was born November 9, 1931 in Vance, AL, to the late Gordon Reach and Annie Mae Medders Reach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Richard Earl Crowder; one daughter, Kim Porter; two brothers, Joel and Gordon Reach; two sisters, Deda Kelly and Yvonne Bowling; and son-in-law, Mark Hayden.
Mrs. Crowder is survived by her son, Rick (Kristi) Crowder of Clarksville; two daughters, Sherri (Kerry) Swickard of Birmingham, AL and Penny Hayden of Nashville, TN; one sister, Dora Lee McCool; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Sage officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday, March 22, at the funeral home.
