Edward Lamar Lyon, age 68, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1946, in Pikeville, TN, to the late Leonard Lyon and Laura Nail Lyon.
Lamar was retired from Goodyear, in Union City, TN and was recently the co-owner of Kona Ice of Clarksville. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing and was active in prison ministry in Obion County. Lamar was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Geoffrey Sikes and Bro. Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, in Nashville, TN. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 22, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Mathenia, Ricky Mathenia, Randy Lyon, Bobby Moultrie, Todd Carter, and Bill Shepler. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar’s grandchildren, and Raymon Douglas and Kevin Bing.
Mr. Lyon is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Paré Lyon; son, Landon (Melinda) Lyon, of Pegram, TN; daughter, Stacia (Jay) Ruger, of Copperas Cove, TX; two sisters, Louise (Paul) Mosier, of Troy, TN and Linda Mathenia, of Union City, TN; six grandchildren, Catlin Lyon, Chase Moore, Rheagan Moore, Bryce Ruger, Trenton Ruger, and Ashlyn Ruger; and two great grandchildren, Chloe Lyon and Aniya Lyon.
In addition to his parents, Lamar was also preceded in death by his brother, Leon Lyon.
