Edward J. Mathews Sr., age 67, of Clarksville, passed away at his residence on November 10, 2014.
He was born on April 7, 1947 in Cave-in-Rock, IL to the late Allen and Bullah Mae Winters Mathews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Faye Bullock, and Betty Lou Mathews.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Fike Mathews of Clarksville; four sons, Edward Mathews, Jr.; Wayne Mathews; James Mathews; Scott Vaughn all of Hardin County, IL; four daughters, Michelle Vaughn and Joyce Vaughn of IL; Christy Wallace of IL; and Jacqueline Carter of Clarksville; three brothers, Roy Mathews and John Mathews of Elizabethtown, IL; George Mathews of Marion, IL; four sisters, Barbara Tolbert of Elizabethtown, IL; Rita Price of Herrin, IL; Laura Mae Cunningham of Rosi Claire, IL; Lisa Davis of Hopkinsville,KY; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
