CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation held its 9th Annual Vision to Reality Gala and Auction Saturday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Close to 300 people turned out to support the Education Foundation and celebrate education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS).
Along with a dinner there were videos presented that showed the work of the Education Foundation and its programs that support the students and teachers in the school system. Dozens of items donated by local businesses and individuals were also up for bid in a fundraising silent auction and live auction.
Speaking to those gathered at the gala, Candy Johnson, Education Foundation Executive Director talked about the support the organization provides the school system. “More that 95.5 percent of every dollar raised through the education foundation goes directly back into our public schools,” said Johnson.
Johnson added that the support shown was something the organization takes pride in and they will continue to use the funds they raise to support public education. The Education Foundation supports innovation and opportunities for students and teachers that will help the local schools to be the best in the nation.
Director of Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, Dr. B.J. Worthington thanked those attending the Vision to Reality Gala and Auction for their support. “On behalf of the 31,300 students in our school district I want to say thank you, thank you for being here tonight and supporting our schools on a daily basis,” Worthington said.
Some of the programs that are part of the Education Foundation and that have benefited from community support received by the organization include Kinder Kits, the Academic Awards Program, 100% Graduation, Reality Check, Get Motivated, the Clarksville Montgomery County Teacher Warehouse and Leadership CMCSS.
