CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The pace of early voting has picked up in the last week in Montgomery County, with over 3,200 people a day casting ballots.

Turnout is still pacing lower than it was in the 2020 presidential election (when Joe Biden beat Donald Trump), at 8.8% lower so far this year. But it’s much higher than it was in 2016 (when Trump beat Hillary Clinton), at 24.4% higher this year.

That’s similar to the statewide turnout: 6% below 2020, but 32% above 2016, according to Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office records.

Here are the daily early voting totals so far in Montgomery County:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 16: 2,958
  • Thursday, Oct. 17: 2,896
  • Friday, Oct. 18: 2,925
  • Saturday, Oct. 19: 2,362
  • Monday, Oct. 21: 2,678
  • Tuesday, Oct. 22: 2,777
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23: 2,838

Adding in nursing home and mailed-in ballots, 31,628 voters have cast their ballots in 10 days of early voting. Including Monday, we still have four days of early voting, ending on Thursday, plus Election Day on Nov. 5.

For the first time, early voting is being held in a third location, at RichEllen Park on Highway 149. Here is the remaining early voting schedule:
