CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) –  Early voting for the District 22 State Senate seat primary ends on Saturday, March 2 in Montgomery County.

Candidates announced for primary election for Tennessee State Senate

Early voting takes place at the Montgomery County Election Commission office at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404 in Veteran’s Plaza.

Voters will decide the primary candidates for the District 22 Senate seat vacated by Mark Green, who won a seat to congress in November.

On March 7, special primaries will be held for both political parties and a general election will take place April 23.

Registered voters in Montgomery County can vote at their designated polling places on the day of the primary (March 7) and on Election Day (April 23).

Tennesseans should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security as well as photo IDs issued by Tennessee state government or the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.

State law requires polling locations and the area within a 100-foot boundary surrounding each entrance remain campaign-free zones. Tennessee law prohibits the display or distribution of campaign materials and the solicitation of votes for or against any person, party or question on the ballot in these areas.
