CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department and Clarksville Fire Rescue are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred Thursday around 3:12 a.m. at 1252 Dodd Street.
Fire Marshal Ray Williams said an officer on patrol spotted smoke and flames coming from the home and called it in.
No one was inside the home at the time, and Williams said the occupants had not been there for several days.
Once crews arrived, the fire, which originated in a rear bedroom, was under control within 10 minutes.
The home is unlivable and the residents will stay with family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it may have been intentionally set. Anyone with information is urged to call Fire Marshal Ray Williams at 931-645-7462. Detective Kenny Bradley with CPD is the lead investigator.
