CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In the early hours of Wednesday morning, first responders arrived on the smoky scene of a growing house fire on Courtney Drive.
At around 6 a.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue Battalion 2 crews from Stations 5, 6, 8, and 1 responded to a structure fire on the 1300 block of Courtney Drive and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the home, according to CFR.
The two occupants of the home were able to get out without injury, and firefighters were able to keep the fire damage to the room of origin in the back of the house, but smoke damage affected the interior throughout.
The fire is believed to have started from a candle, CFR said.
