NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A mother who has been told she has weeks to live will be granted her dying wish – to take her 4-year-old daughter to Disney World.
WKRN News 2 reports that 19-year-old Savannah Cashman Morgan has been diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. She wants to be able to take her daughter Hannah to Disney World in the short time she has left.
A GoFundMe account was set up to fund the trip, and the $10,000 goal has already been reached.
Last week, APSU’s Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity found out about Savannah’s wish and raised $1,500 to support her.
“This hit home to me personally because I have a lot of friends at home and they are having kids,” said Alphi Phi Alpha President Andrew Montgomery.
Savannah has created cards for her daughter to read in the future on birthdays, graduation, and her wedding day to help Hannah remember her mother.
“I want her to have something from me in the future when I’m not there so she doesn’t think I’ve abandoned her you know,” she said. “A lot of people don’t get that opportunity and I feel blessed just to have that opportunity.”
