CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Dunbar Cave State Park invites guests to join them at the cave entrance for an afternoon of music, dancing and exploring on Saturday, September 28, from 6-8 p.m. for ‘Dunbar Cave – 1865.’
Throughout much of the 19th and 20th centuries, Dunbar Cave was a popular outdoor dance hall. ‘Dunbar Cave – 1865’ hopes to make use of that dance floor while teaching guests about the park’s history. The afternoon will feature live music from the 19th century. Dance instructors will be available as well, teaching dances from the time period. Refreshments will also be provided.
Included with the event is a candlelit tour of Dunbar Cave’s interior. Experienced park staff will lead guests through the caverns, pointing out the Native American artwork and sharing the cave’s history. Tours begin 30 minutes early. Children under five are not allowed to participate in cave tours.
Tickets for ‘Dunbar Cave – 1865’ are $20 for adults and $12 for children between the ages of five and twelve. Children four and under are free. Tickets are limited, and guests are encouraged to register early. To purchase tickets, visit Dunbar Cave State Park online.
