CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A traffic hazard in the 3000 block of Trenton Road will cause traffic delays for several hours.

The 3000 block falls between Aspen Grove Way and Spring Creek Court on Trenton Road.

The roadway is open, but Clarksville Police are only allowing one lane of travel through at a time.

The hazard is related to a DUI crash around 3 a.m., where the driver struck a utility pole which then snapped in half. The line is hanging too low for semis or other tall vehicles to get through.

Utility workers are on the scene.

School buses and utility workers are the only ones being allowed to go through the area which is now closed.

Once the replacement pole is set, flaggers will start directing traffic.

There will still be delays. If possible, CPD is asking drivers to avoid the area until the work is complete.
