CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville dump truck driver died Thursday after he was pinned underneath the truck.

A little before noon on May 24, a dump truck with a trailer attached was parked at the top of a gravel hill on private property on Nolen Rd. The driver of the dump truck, 58-year-old Scott Flitsch, was standing behind the truck when it started to roll down the hill for an unknown reason.

The truck hit another truck, a Ford Mustang, and a tractor before coming to rest.

A witness heard yelling and found Flitsch with his leg pinned underneath the rear tires on the passenger side. It is unclear how he became pinned.

Clarksville Fire Rescue and EMS extricated him and he was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt, where he died around 2 p.m. from his injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
