Driver crashes into building, flees scene

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A driver crashed into an apartment building on Ryder Avenue near Northwest High School Saturday afternoon.

According to a police report, the vehicle was headed north when the driver ran off the right side of the road and hit a trash can.

A witness yelled at the driver, who then backed into the yard of the residence and struck the building before fleeing the scene.

The witness told police the vehicle was a dark gray 4-door car with significant rear-end damage driven by a young black male. No other suspect or vehicle information was provided.
