On January 29th, 2024, Dr. Lewis E Brown went on to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Jesse Brown, his parents-in-law, Leamon and Bertie Jenkins, and his daughter, Kathy Philips.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Katherine Brown, his siblings Janice (Leon) Mann and Michael Brown (Candy), his daughters Karen Pullin (Tim), Kim Masters (Johnny), Kelly Watts (David), son-in-law Scott Philips & grandsons John Pullin (Aimee), Destry Philips (Kaitlin), Sam Masters, Isaac Masters, William Martin, Jaylen Presley, and Trevor Pullin. As well as his beloved nieces & nephews.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and was an airman for nearly 10 years most in the Strategic Air Command. He served in the Vietnam War. After his departure from service to his country, he joined Nazarene Bible College to answer the ultimate call from the Lord. He was in ministry for 40 years. He served churches in Colorado, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia before retiring in 2013.
His greatest passions in life were preaching and painting. He touched so many lives through both of these ministries. He was a provider and protector, a sports fanatic, and shared his walk with the Lord with everyone he met. To know him was to love him. He will be missed greatly.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Pullin and Clint Walker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. At Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Dr. Brown will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lakeview Church of the Nazarene Youth fund in Waynesville, NC, St Jude’s, or a ministry of your choice.
