CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Dozens of shooters competed in Clarksville High School Shooting Sports Team’s annual three-man sporting clay fundraiser Sunday afternoon at the Montgomery County Shooting Complex.
Approximately 50 people form the Clarksville-Montgomery County area participated in the event to help raise money for the Clarksville High School Shooting Sports Team.
Clarksville High School shooting sports team coach Bruce McGaha said he was very pleased with the turnout at the fundraiser and said he was grateful for the positive support from the shooting and hunting community.
“We practice twice a week and that can get very expensive,” said McGaha. “We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support from the local community.”
The team competes in the Scholastic Clay Target Program. They have claimed two state championships and have been nationally ranked in their brief four years of competition.
The Clarksville High School shooting sports team will start preparing for competition next week as they get ready for the regionals that are held in May.
