Doyle Mason Melton, age 73, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his home.

He was born in Woodbury, TN, to the late Charlie Melton and Burnetta McGee Melton. Doyle was also preceded in death by his daughter, Phillis Melton Smith, and three brothers, Phillip, James, and Ellis Melton.

Mr. Melton worked for the City of Clarksville for 12 years and was a member of McAdoo Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also an avid woodworker and fisherman, as well as a big Tennessee Vols, Titans, and Indianapolis Colts fan.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21 at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. E.G. Sims and Rev. Joe Vick officiating. Entombment will follow, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, December 20, and from noon until the hour of service Saturday, December 21 at the funeral home.

Doyle is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eunice Jackson Melton; one son, Darrell (Kimberly) Melton, of Clarksville; one sister, Nancy (John) Rinehart, of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Charmaine Smith, Mason Melton, Denton Melton, and Robert Smith; and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Justin Short, Josh Jackson, Kris Justice, Ty Knight, Mason Melton, Denton Melton, and Robert Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be elders of McAdoo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
