CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Downtown Kiwanis Club recently presented a $1,000 donation to Clarksville Young Life which was accepted by Clifford Shirley, Area Director of Clarksville Young Life. The Downtown Kiwanis Club has supported Young Life since its inception in Clarksville over ten years ago.
The Kiwanis International slogan is “Serving the Children of the World.” The Kiwanis Club believe the program has a major positive influence on high school kids when they are at their most influential age. Young Life will use the money towards its annual operating expenses or send kids to camp.
The Kiwanis Club also voted in two new members, Thomas Durrett and Jerred Vienneau and presented Mayor Jim Durrett with an award for program of the quarter.
