CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Bikers Who Care Organization is introducing the Downtown Commons Oktoberfest event to Clarksville.
This inaugural event will be held at Downtown Commons on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 2-10 p.m.
This celebration will include something for the whole family. Entry is $5 for everyone 10 and older.
There will be a traditional Bavarian Bier Garden with a variety of fall and German brews from Ajax Miller Lite and The Hand Family Company, Budweiser of Clarksville.
Guests can also enjoy a Stein Hoist competition, brat eating contest, and Wiener Dog races. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their favorite German/Bavarian costumes to add to the festivities.
There will also be a kids zone with a full size Ferris wheel, carousel, carnival games, inflatables, face painting and more.
Bikers Who Care (BWC) is a non-profit organization of motorcycle enthusiasts dedicated to supporting The Dream Factory of Clarksville by fully sponsoring Camp Rainbow- a summer camp for seriously ill children.
“The BWC has been in the business of raising money for children’s charities for over 37 years. For 15 years we have done a Haunted House in October and this year we wanted to replace it with a new event at the beautiful Downtown Commons. This perfect venue and the support of the community will bring back an Oktoberfest festival for everyone in the community to come out and enjoy,” BWC President Bill Langford said.
Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett expressed excitement for the new event.
“When I was told BWC was bringing back Oktoberfest and bringing it to the Downtown Commons I was high-fiving everyone,” Durrett said. “As you well know, everything that the BWC does, they do it with class. Oktoberfest is the perfect event for the Commons. It’s fun for all ages and creates such a festive environment. I can’t wait to see all the smiling faces of Montgomery County enjoying the ‘heart’ of our community, our downtown.”
