CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink will open for its second season on November 23, the day after Thanksgiving.

Officials say the rink is significantly larger than it was last year.

During most of the year, the Downtown Commons is a large open lawn, but in late fall through early winter it is transformed into an ice rink. Golly G’s will also be up and running ready to serve at Downtown Commons when the rink opens.

Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink is scheduled to run November 23 through January 21. Operating hours will be Thursdays and Fridays 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays 2 to 10 p.m. The hours will be extended during school breaks and on holidays. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12 with discounts for military and APSU students. Private party rentals are also available.

Special events are also planned throughout with the season, including movie nights, a dance party, a college night, and a luau-themed celebration. Details on these events will be available soon.

“Things are going to look a lot different this year! Downtown Commons will be wide open for people to enjoy. The outdoor rink, music and festivities will definitely add to the beauty of downtown during the Christmas season. We are excited about seeing all of the residents and visitors enjoying the ice rink,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.
